"The reality is that we have caring people. In fact, many of us feel called to care ever more. What I hear less about is caring systems."
— Bernie Wong | Keynote panel at the 4th International Symposium to Advance Total Worker Health®
Hi! I'm Bernie.
I'm a mental health educator, public health practitioner, and above all, an activist who has spent over a decade in advocacy for the mental health and well-being of all.
I am a founding team member of Mind Share Partners — a nonprofit at the forefront of the workforce mental health movement — and currently serve as their Movement Building and Research Lead.
I've helped build Mind Share Partners from the ground up; consulted world-class employers like TJX, PGIM, and OLLY; and worked with organizations like Pure Leaf and Qualtrics to advance the national movement for workforce well-being.
My work and perspectives have cited by the CDC, Economist, Harvard Business Review, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and more.
I've led national movement building initiatives to advance mental health.
I've led national polls now cited by leading institutions like the CDC, Department of Health and Human Services, and the Economist.
I created a virtual community of 600+ employee resource group leaders to equip internal champions to advance change within their organizations.
I've worked with brands like Edelman, Pure Leaf, iStock, and a Fortune 100 retailer to create compelling resources, programs, and campaigns for well-being.
I lead training and consulting to create vibrant cultures.
I facilitate workshops across audiences to equip people with the knowledge and skills to prioritize work and well-being.
I conduct discovery assessments to deeply understand the culture, values, and systems of workplaces.
I advise organizations and leaders on how to create the culture, systems, and infrastructure to support workplace mental health.
I write and speak on timely issues related to work and well-being.
I've spoken at events by NIOSH, Lenovo, Seramount, and the Collective Impact Forum.
I've written for and been featured in publications like Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Business Insider, and HuffPo.
Testimonials
"This is one of the most valuable presentations I can remember attending. It was timely, relevant, actionable, and I can't wait to share what I learned with others."
"Bernie was FANTASTIC at giving our group the ability to pause and consider reflecting rather than rushing along, especially since the questions were more reflective."
"The safe space for vulnerability was so important and it felt like it was a place where people were accepting of talking about mental health rather than feeling shameful."
